[OpenSIPS-Users] Which billing system in a carrier-grade environment?

100 cps in the sip proxy will not reflect to 100 cps in the billing system. Many calls will not proceed and there will be no billing requests. Other calls will make more queries in the system as they proceed others not. Load depends on many aspects on concurrent calls of users sharing same prepaid balance if they use prepaid. A single call may query a database 1 or 20 times depending on features and checks you perform. Then you may query DNS, Radius or other external systems, the RTT to them also matter. The matrix of possibilities is infinitely complex depending on configuration, in reality this 100 cps is really meaningless. It does not guarantee that the system will work or not by just looking at paper statistics unless you reduce everything to a single box, single call flow scenario that can be reproduced every time in the same way. You are looking for a simple answer for a complex problem but there isn't any.

One best practice is to do it to the best of your knowledge and then improve the system as you go because universal systems with guaranteed X cps do not exit in reality.
