[OpenSIPS-Users] Cannot Register Phones (Newbie question)

Brett,
Yes you're right, opensips is not starting. I noticed the /var/log/messages file indicates it needs a database. I want to use postgresql instead of mysql, so I changed the DBENGINE parameter to PGSQL in the opensipsctlrc and osipsconsolerc.
Now, when I execute "./opensipsdbctl create", I get the following error:
ERROR: could not load the script in /opt/opensips/lib64/opensips/opensipsctl/opensipsdbctl.pgsql for database engine PGSQL
ERROR: database engine not loaded - tried 'PGSQL'
I noticed the opensipsdbctl.pgsql file does not exist at all. I suspect there is a build step to specify postgresql?
Thanks,
Jerry

Hello,
I'm new to OpenSIPS and just trying to install it for the first time on my CentOS 5.3 machine, but I cannot register a phone. I did not change any of the default configurations.

Can anyone tell me what I'm missing? By the way, there is no file called "/tmp/opensips_fifo" and I don't know how to make it create one?
Hey Jerry,
OpenSIPs doesn't really work "out of the box". It requires extensive configuration and customization.
The default config that is installed does have some rudimentary support for registrations, but requires a properly setup database which may be your problem.
Can you post the errors in your syslog? Do you know if opensips is actually starting up? I suspect it's not.
