[OpenSIPS-Users] to declare glbal variable as integer

hello,
I want to declare one "count"variable which count number of calls.
I declared it in global parameter section of opensips.cfg as $var(count)=0;
It did not work.
Please tell me where to declare new variable and how to use in route block.
An example will help.
