I've tried to reproduce this but unfortunately I haven't been able to do so :-S I used a 64bit Debian wheezy/sid machine.

I'd suggest you install libgcrypt and libgnutls -dbg packages so that your backtrace is more complete and see if there are any open bug reports about any of them.
