[OpenSIPS-Users] RES: Article on mediaproxy

Hi Frank,

You could use OpenSIPS with Asterisk for transcoding. Using the failure
route capabilities of OpenSIPS, you can track responses such as "415
Unsupported Media Type" and forward to an Asterisk server only the
conversations that requires transcoding. Depending on the size of your
installation, using only Asterisk/Freeswtich/Yate... may be simpler then
integrate both solutions.

I hope it helps,

Flavio E. Goncalves

OK

OK

well, my goal is very simple. I'm stucked with a softphone which supports
only one codec (g711uLaw)
and I need to proxy these softphones with nat_traversal (and not) and
transcode the signal when needed in Gxxx and Speex.
to relay trunks as much as possible. no need to manage account or whatever,
only need to proxy and transcode.
Acme is too expensive, as I'm alone in a research no profit project.

Thank you very much for your help

Franck
