[OpenSIPS-Users] Newbie To OpenSIPS

Thank you for the response UK. We are looking at using OpenSIPS on Linux to act as a SIP Router to handoff SIP calls to other carriers that are also using SIP, and explore the use of the agent registration server functionality. I have already previously installed and debugged Asterisk on CentOS to act as a branded appliance issuing DHCP and DNS to VOIP phones. My understanding is that you can route your Asterisk systems to OpenSIPS as a SIP-Proxy-where they can then get router to other SIP or SS7 carriers, or your own Class 4 or 5 environment. Maybe I am misunderstanding as far as what OpenSIPS can actually do? Thanks.
