Which distro are you using? Do you have /usr/local/lib/ in your  
LD_LIBRARY_PATH? You may want to add it:

saghul at topux:~/work/src/python-sipsimple$ cat /etc/ld.so.conf.d/ 
local.conf
/usr/local/lib

and then run ldconfig
