I recommend the book you mention below. Though it is a little outdated the
basic concepts are there and they have good examples. As for bootcamps I
can't say because I haven't done one yet, but I am sure Voice-System.ro is
the best since they are the ones who actually maintain the OpenSIPS
project. There are a couple of webinars if you go here

That is a good start.
The learning curve is pretty steep (I have been working with OpenSIPS for
one year now), but once you get the hang of it you can do anything you
want. It's a pretty powerful program when it comes to SIP and I sense that
it will play a big rule in the near future with all this UC hype.
