I've set up openSER 1.4 successfully on a CentOS5 64Bit OS a few weeks
ago. I had to download a few sources (e.g xmlrpc-c), cause CentOS5 uses
(old resp. matured or stable or prooven) releases of software you need
for compiling openser. It works stable as far as I can say.
