[OpenSIPS-Devel] configure script

Hi all,

I just started to work with OpenSIPS, so please excuse my ignorance.

I wonder, why configure script was not used for building but hand-made
Makefile?
I ask cause only after compilation errors have happened we have to
investigate what was missed during installation (e.g. pcre lib).

I'm going to try to create configure script and I would like to hear your
opinion, is it reasonable to do now?
Or may be cmake based build automation would be better?
