Summary: Check weather append_branch() is needed. 

Initial Comment:
Idea it to have a function that will perform test weather branch exists ( if append_branch() was performed) for example after hitting failure_route.
This could be done with flags but still it could be  a nice functions that would allow to  creating complicate configuration easier.
